Rays keep White Sox sliding

CHICAGO (AP) - The math is there for the Tampa Bay Rays to see and despite a 10-4 victory Saturday over the slumping Chicago White Sox, they know pulling out a wild card berth when trailing by three with four to play is a monumental assignment.

Of course, they didn't clinch a playoff spot last season until the final day. So, keep playing.

"We have to believe we're going to get the help while we take care of our own business. We're 1-0 on Saturday, let's go 1-0 on Sunday," manager Joe Maddon said. "I'm like the biggest scoreboard watcher, but at the end of the day I can't worry about that."

For the White Sox, it's just as difficult. They trail Detroit by two in the AL Central with four left and must find a way Sunday to beat Rays ace David Price as he goes for his 20th win.

"We have to win every game and hope Detroit loses a couple," said Chicago's Alex Rios, who had two of the White Sox's four hits allowed Saturday by Tampa Bay starter Matt Moore and two relievers. "That's what has to happen."

Moore allowed one hit in 5 1-3 shutout innings, Matt Joyce came off the bench to homer twice and Jeff Keppinger and Chris Gimenez also connected Saturday.

Tampa Bay, with nine wins in 10 games, remained three games out of the second wild card behind Oakland, which beat Seattle 7-4 in 10 innings Saturday.

The White Sox, who've dropped 9 of 11, fell two games behind Detroit in the AL Central when the Tigers defeated the Twins 6-4

After Sunday, the Rays go home for three against Baltimore and the White Sox head to Cleveland. Detroit goes to Kansas City, while Oakland has three at home against the AL West leading Rangers.

"If we win out, we're hoping the way their (A's) schedule is - a chip and a chair kind of thing -that's all we need," Gimenez said.

Moore (11-11), 0-4 in his previous five starts, retired the first 13 batters before Rios singled with one out in the fifth. Dayan Viciedo followed with a walk but Moore got out of it on a fly ball and a strikeout of Tyler Flowers.

"I never felt that there was anything wrong, especially physically. And that's where a little bit of the questions came from at this stage of the season and with my age," said Moore, like Sale, a young lefty with a big future. "That's a natural question with my velocity being down a little bit. But I felt like I went out there and competed with what I had."

With the White Sox trailing 10-0 in the eighth, pinch-hitter Orlando Hudson hit a grand slam off reliever Chris Archer - Chicago's fourth hit all day.

Sale (17-8), who has pitched 192 innings in his first year as a starter, lasted just 3 1-3 innings, his shortest start of the season. He gave up seven hits and was charged with five runs while walking three and striking out seven.

He said fatigue was not a factor whatsoever.

"That was terrible. That was a disgrace," Sale said.

"I did nothing to help the team win, put guys in positions that they shouldn't have been in. To go out and have your starter go three innings, that's a recipe for a disaster pretty much every time. Like I said before, just didn't do my job. Team needed me and I didn't pull it out for them. Just a frustrating day."

Sale beat Moore 2-1 at Tropicana Field on May 28 when he struck out 15 to Moore's 10, but this time he wasn't sharp from the outset, struggling with his control.

"When he doesn't locate, I think that was the biggest thing for him today," Chicago manager Robin Ventura said. "He was just not in the zone enough. It was just one of those, you don't expect that out of him but it is late in the year and stuff can happen. Other than that we stunk."

The Rays had two runners on in both the first and second innings but Sale used his strikeout pitch to escape - he had five in the first two frames.

But B.J. Upton drew a leadoff walk in third and raced home on Ben Zobrist's double into the left-field corner. Evan Longoria lined out, but Keppinger hit his ninth homer, just over the fence in left-center to make it 3-0.

Upton's RBI single in the fourth made it 4-0 and finished the young White Sox ace. Longoria added a run-scoring single off reliever Brian Omogrosso with Upton thrown out at the plate to end the inning. Gimenez hit his first homer of the season and sixth of his major league career, leading off the sixth against Deunte Heath for a six-run cushion.

NOTES: Moore's fourth strikeout of the game in the fifth was his 175th of the season, setting the Rays' rookie record. Scott Kazmir had 174 in 2005. ... White Sox leadoff hitter Alejandro De Aza was scratched from the lineup with flu-like symptoms and replaced by Dewayne Wise. ... Price (19-5), who could become the first 20-game winner in Tampa Bay history, will be opposed by Chicago's Jose Quintana (6-5) on Sunday.

I know of successful entrepreneurs who refuse to share their productivity tips for fear of being ridiculed. One such example is literally not willing to accept a "no" from anyone including staff and vendor.

They see this as an opportunity for innovation while others may see it as being unrealistic or unreasonable and potentially oppressive.

Interestingly, the ones who see to change the world usually start off with a very small following and are often considered outcasts for challenging "conventional wisdom"

Do you know or are you someone who does things "differently", gets more output in less time but concerned about being ridiculed?

Seasonal Jobs: Top Companies Hiring For The Holidays - Careers ...

seasonal jobs holiday hiring

For many weary out-of-work Americans, the upcoming holiday season brings the potential for much-needed seasonal jobs.

Employment-services firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas forecasts retail payrolls to increase by 700,000 during the final three months of 2012, up from the 660,200 seasonal jobs added during last year's fourth quarter. Retailers expect a modest increase in sales (and thus aren't on a massive hiring binge), Challenger CEO John Challenger says.

More recent data suggests, however, that Americans are becoming more optimistic, as home values and stock prices are growing.

In fact, CBS News reported this week that consumer confidence is at its highest level in seven months, largely because more Americans expect the jobs picture to improve.

Large retailers have started announcing their hiring plans -- some of them quite ambitious. If you're in the market for a seasonal job, check out the gallery below to see who's hiring.

Taiwan enters island fray, but China and Japan shrug

Boats from China and Japan chased each other around a set of disputed islets, setting off a diplomatic crisis. But when Taiwan entered the fray, neither side seemed to care.

By Ralph Jennings,?Correspondent / September 28, 2012

An aerial view shows a Japan Coast Guard patrol ship, fishing boats from Taiwan and Taiwan's Coast Guard vessel sailing side by side near Uotsuri island (top), a part of the disputed islands in the East China Sea, known as Senkaku in Japan, Diaoyu in China, and Tiaoyutai in Taiwan, in this September 25 photo.

The government in Taipei said last week it wanted to be a peacemaker in a sovereignty dispute involving a set of uninhabited islands in the East China Sea. Boats from China and Japan had chased each other around the islets they both claim, setting off mass protests in China that sent Sino-Japanese relations to a new low.

Then this week, Taiwan stopped talking about peace as 12 of its coast guard vessels escorted some 50 Taiwanese fishing boats to the islets, a sort passive-aggressive reminder of its own claim to islets that are 137 miles from Taiwan. Japan controls the islands, which it calls the Senkakus, and sprayed water cannons at Taiwan?s boats to keep them away.

But instead of setting off a diplomatic crisis, no one appears to be taking Taiwan too seriously ? at least not yet.

As far as China is concerned Taiwan is still part of China even though a Nationalist Party set up a rival government in Taipei after losing the Chinese civil war to the Communists in the 1940s. Beijing believes it will capture Taiwan someday even though the two sides are now self-ruled. By that logic any new territory Taiwan locks in would eventually go to China anyway.

At the same time, Japan and Taiwan can hardly live without each other. The former World War II colonizer is today one of Taiwan?s top five sources of tourism. Common Taiwanese take fashion, food, and shopping cues from peers in Tokyo while a strong contingent of conservative Japanese lawmakers who dislike communist China embraces Taiwan as a friendly fellow democracy.

?Japan is probably the only country in the world that attaches strategic importance to Taiwan,? says Bonnie Glaser, a senior fellow with the CSIS Freeman Chair in China Studies.

But Taiwan?s leadership neither expects to conquer the tiny islets nor broker a peace deal. President Ma Ying-jeou?s government is, instead, intent on using the issue to fulfill an often failed, 4-year-old domestic pledge: expand clout among major world nations through informal ties usually described as soft power.?

China forbids its 170-plus diplomatic allies from engaging Taiwan directly. But Taiwan may hope its idea to be a regional peacemaker?will stimulate scholarly debate in the United States, putting Taipei on the map of high-level academic conferences, says Alexander Huang, strategic studies professor with Tamkang University in Taiwan. ?Ma has taken at least an initiative and a moral high ground,? Mr. Huang says.

Taiwan has also avoided bashing China with heated language (letting Japan handle that) over the disputed islets, though they make separate claims. That puts the two sides in the same boat as seen from Beijing. ?It embraces the one-China concept in Beijing?s eyes,? Mr. Huang adds.

That edge will make China happier, and Taiwan wealthier, when the two sides bargain over trade tariffs or investment rules.?

Making good on that pledge to expand clout matters now as President Ma Ying-jeou sees approval ratings of just 15 to 25 percent this year so far because of domestic issues such as rising prices and stubborn wages. Term limits would stop Mr. Ma from seeking a new term in 2016, but his Nationalist Party could inherit any approval problems he leaves behind.

FBI probes $7 flea market Renoir over theft report

Potomack Company via AP

This undated image provided by the Potomack Company shows French Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir's "Paysage Bords de Seine," which was purchased for $7 at a flea market in West Virginia.

By NBC News staff and wire reports

The Renoir painting that caused a sensation when it was bought at a flea market for $7 may have been stolen from a museum six decades ago, and an auction house has put its sale on hold.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir's painting "Paysage Bords de Seine" was due to go to auction through the Potomack Company on Saturday, but its sale was put on hold after a Washington Post reporter discovered documents in the Baltimore Museum of Art's library showing it was on loan there from 1937 until 1951, when it was stolen.

The Impressionist work, whose title translates as "Landscape on the Banks of the Seine," was purchased two years ago at a West Virginia flea market.

The buyer, a Virginia woman who has not revealed her name, took it to auction house The Potomack Co. in July, and experts there confirmed it was by the French master Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The frame of the painting includes a "Renoir" plaque.

"I originally bought it for the frame," the buyer admitted to NBCWashington.com earlier this month. "I was trying to rip it apart... I was like, well, maybe I should wait." The buyer's mother encouraged her to get it appraised.

It was expected to fetch $75,000 to $100,000 at auction.?

"The rest of the auction will go on, but the Renoir has been withdrawn," said Lucie Holland, a spokeswoman for The Potomack Co.

Read the story on NBCWashington.com

Potomack said that the?London-based Art Loss Registry had said that the painting had never been reported stolen or missing and the FBI's art theft website did not list it as stolen either. There was also no police report from the theft.

The FBI is now investigating.

'Caught by surprise'
The Renoir came to the Baltimore museum through one of its leading benefactors, collector Saidie May. Her family?bought it from the Bernheim-Jeune gallery in Paris in 1926.

The Washington Post found records in the museum's library on Tuesday that showed May had lent the paintings and other works to the museum in 1937, Potomack said.

After the newspaper told it of the findings, the Baltimore museum checked its files and found a loan record showing the Renoir had been stolen on November 17, 1951. What happened to it after the theft is unknown.

Doreen Bolger, the museum director, said the museum's probe into what happened to the painting was in early stages.

May died in May 1951 and the art collection was willed to the museum. As its ownership was going through legal transfer, the painting was stolen while still listed as on loan.

?

The Mona Lisa Foundation, based in Switzerland, is claiming Leonardo da Vinci painted an earlier version of the Mona Lisa. Is she or isn't she? NBC's Jim Maceda reports.

"We were caught by surprise," Bolger said on Thursday.

"At this point we just want to make sure that the painting winds up where it belongs and that we provide all the information we can to law enforcement about this issue," Bolger said.?

She said that she would be happy to show the painting again if it is ultimately returned to the museum.

NBC News staff, Reuters and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

With all this being said, bold or darker colours can still be used in the colour scheme of a little bathroom. Attempt integrating the use of darker colours in accents. This could consist of accent wall tiles, towels, soap dispensers and any other accessories.

DUI tragedy forces Russian road safety rethink

MOSCOW (AP) ? It took a weekend road tragedy to jolt Russia into action over one of its most deadly threats: a chronic culture of drunken driving.

Five orphaned teens were waiting for a bus with their guardians in Moscow on Saturday when a car careened into them, killing all seven. Grief turned to outrage when it emerged that the driver was heavily drunk and had a string of traffic violations on his record ? including a DUI arrest two years ago.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and lawmakers have reacted with proposals to stiffen penalties on drunken drivers, and parliament debated the measures on Tuesday. But with bribery so commonplace and road laws rarely enforced, many wonder whether even the toughest response can change a deep-set culture of reckless driving.

After the crash, police video shows, Alexander Maximov stumbled out of his Toyota sedan, which he had been driving at 200 kilometers (125 miles per hour), bloodied and barely able to stand. He appeared in court Monday with his head wounds dressed, but still wearing the blood-speckled sweatshirt from the day of the accident.

The punishment for killing while drunken driving in Russia is stiff: The 30-year-old Maximov faces up to nine years in prison. But lawmakers are currently debating whether to make jail sentences even harsher, matching laws in the West.

Even President Vladimir Putin weighed in Tuesday, demanding tougher punishments and condemning Maximov's apparent blithe indifference after the crash.

"This criminal, he's a killer in fact, when speaking to investigators just said: 'I always do what I want,'" Putin said. "There are some things for which people just must be punished."

Many Russians are furious that Maximov, who already had a DUI penalty on his license from 2010, was allowed back onto the roads in the first place. Drunken driving is punishable here by suspension of the driver's license for up to two years. In much of the West, by comparison, drunken driving is punished with jail time, heavy fines and re-education courses.

It isn't only irresponsible drinking that makes Russia's roads dangerous.

Russia's cities are struggling with fast-growing traffic density, which spurs drivers into pulling crazy stunts to get home as early as possible, such as jumping lights, squeezing through every gap in traffic and opportunistic trailing of racing ambulances. According to a 2007 survey, the number of cars on Moscow's roads had increased threefold since the early 1990s, while road capacity has increased by only 30 percent.

Each year, approximately 30,000 Russians die in road accidents ? about the same as in the European Union, which has three times as many people and about six times as many cars as Russia. According to official statistics, only about 1,000 of those deaths are attributable to death by drunken drivers, but given the laxity of police enforcement and investigation, many in Russia doubt those figures.

Medvedev, who championed a no-tolerance policy in 2010 against drivers with even the slightest amount of alcohol in their blood, spoke out in favor of tougher penalties.

"Most of (our accidents) are committed by drivers who are completely drunk, and in this regard our country is in a worse state than any other," Medvedev said Monday, adding that it was necessary to think about "toughening the legal responsibility for such a crime."

In the wake of Saturday's tragedy, Moscow police have scrambled to show they are doing their bit, announcing that they had arrested over 130 drunken drivers on Sunday alone, according to Interfax news agency.

Over the past few days, lawmakers from the pro-Kremlin United Russia party have come forward with various proposals to tackle drunken driving. One plan suggested a fine of up to 100,000 rubles ($3,200), while another more drastic bill calls for life imprisonment for anyone convicted of killing someone while under the influence.

Pervasive bribery, and its acceptance among much of the population, will make implementing any such measures an uphill struggle, however.

According to a Levada Center poll in 2010, only 10 percent of those questioned said they thought negatively of people who gave bribes, whereas the majority considered it "necessary" in dealing with public officials.

The same survey showed that Russians pay the greatest amount of bribes for medical treatment. Paying off traffic police came in at a close second.

"Of course it's important to propose new laws, they need to be stricter," said Natalya Agre, president of Road Safety Russia. "You can increase the fine to $2,000, but once again, who is going to keep track of whether that fine is given, and who is going to pay it?"

Agre's company has run a sleek social advertising campaign against drunken driving, and has begun attracting attention from big talent. A feature-length film by the company titled "There's No Hurry" was made with the help of some of the country's best directors and actors.

More important than police enforcement may be fundamental change to the car culture in Russia, where drivers are notoriously aggressive and fast.

"The driving culture in our country plays a key role," said Agre.

Why Is A Backlink Generator Essential For Your Business

Businesses are finding that the use of experts in internet marketing is turning out to be costly and are seeking for backlink generator software products. Whereas there are things which must be left out to experts, on the other hand, those that can be done with automated tools may help to relieve the burden of advertising costs for the website owners. Internet users search through search engines like Google and Yahoo for information, products and services by placing search queries.

Creating backlinks for a website is very demanding. You have to submit articles to directories. You need to post blog posts and comments in discussion forums. In addition you have to participate actively in social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. This clearly demonstrates the time that is required to do this work. For the businesses person, it is not easy. In most cases, an expert is hired to carry out these tasks.

Through backlink generator, the process of creating backlinks is made easier. What you need is have your site submitted to many different sites and which are of good PR. The software is designed with intuitiveness and can crawl the internet and search for content that is similar to yours and then create inbound links. The software can submit your site to thousands of directories, blog sites and social media network sites in just minutes.

When you use the right software to create backlinks for your business, you are able to get good ranking on the SERPs. An excellent link creation software product creates different anchor texts for your website. This means that the search engine algorithm will not suspect that the link building is artificial. What search engines are against is over-optimization by using repetitive and same anchor texts from different sites.

Link building can take thousands of dollars from your marketing financial kit and therefore if not checked it can stretch your internet marketing budget. The most powerful link creation software tools are able to build hundreds of backlinks in very short time. Some of these backlink generator tools will even automatically submit posts to article directories. They also find the best keywords for your website and then generate the links.

Internet marketing and more so, SEO is not a onetime undertaking. It is a continuous process that has to be maintained by businesses. In order for your site to remain on top pages, it has to constantly provide inbound links, quality content and social signals. This may be achieved with a backlink generator.

Most businesses are seeking for alternative ways, which they can use to promote their websites because SEO companies are not offering fast results. Those SEO services that are virtually doing link building manually, they take too long to deliver tangible results. This is time your business could be making money from traffic that is drawn through inbound links. Link creation increases traffic volume in a website.

This tool uses different anchor texts when they are creating inbound links for your website. They submit the sites with varying titles or anchor texts and descriptions. This is to ensure that there is no over optimization of your site. This averts getting into trouble with search engines like Google, something which can deal your site a blow. In short, a backlink generator tool is a good companion for business owners who would like to get SEO results pretty fast while still minimizing their spending on internet marketing.

Vegans: Put a Pumpkin in It! | LC Radar

It is time. The air is getting crisp, leaves are changing colors, and my love for a certain fall flavor has been rekindled. Every year I?m faced with the same question: ?How do I incorporate pumpkin in every single thing I consume?? And I mean everything.

When I started transitioning to a more vegan diet, I worried that I would need to give up my dearest orange love. But actually, pumpkin lends itself very well to vegan recipes! Part of its versatility comes from its thick consistency and earthy, sweet flavor when cooked. Let?s go through the day of a person pumpkin-obsessed,* and maybe be thankful that this vegetable is in season only once a year.

Breakfast: The day has just begun and you?re ready to get your pumpkin on. Though Starbucks does offer their seasonal pumpkin spice latte with a soymilk option, the drink still includes a milk derivative that makes it (sadly) non-vegan. Why not make your own vegan pumpkin spice latte at home? Or just brew a cup of pumpkin spice coffee, like Trader Joe?s. Better yet, serve up some super easy pumpkin spice pancakes with maple syrup to go with it!

Lunch: You can have sweets for lunch too, right? Try these baking pumpkin scones. If you don?t have time to bake from scratch, pick up a pumpkin bread mix and veganize it using a few replacements! Maybe even stir up and add this pumpkin spread to make it doubly flavorful. Top it all off with a glass of your favorite pumpkin spice dairy-free milk, offered in soy from Silk and (newly-released) coconut from So Delicious.

Snack: After you?re done scooping out and carving your Halloween pumpkin (or at least attempted a squiggly black cat), take those raw seeds and roast them for a tasty health snack!

Dinner: Now it?s time to balance all the sweetness of the day with something savory. Grab some vegan wonton wrappers (or make your own) and cook these innovative pumpkin dumplings! If you?re feeling really adventurous, try to make your own pumpkin juice (and feel like a Hogwarts student?or a house elf, depending on your perspective). For those of you of age, consider this pumpkin ale from Brooklyn Brewery.

Dessert: For the traditionalists, here?s a vegan twist on the classic pumpkin pie (cashews are so versatile, they can even be used to make vegan ?cheesecake?). But for those who crave chocolate, these tried and true pumpkin brownies have never let me down. Mix up and add a dollop of vegan pumpkin whipped cream, or just eat it straight from the bowl.**

*This article is not responsible for any pumpkin-induced overdoses that occur as a result of following this diet. Be crazy about pumpkin, just not that crazy.

**Or sugar-induced overdoses, either.

Alibaba spins out Aliyun team with $200 million investment, pep talk

Acer CloudMobile with Aliyun

You can imagine that the team building Alibaba's Aliyun mobile OS must have hurt feelings following Google's accusations that Aliyun is just a corruption of Android. Alibaba chief Jack Ma is keen to restore some of that wounded pride, at least on the surface. The CEO has used a since-confirmed staff memo to spin out Aliyun as a separate entity that will "safeguard the healthy growth" of the platform and Alibaba's mobile strategy. It's not solely an instance of tough love, either: Alibaba is putting $200 million into the new firm and will use executive Wang Jian as a link between the two sides, having him serve as the CTO for both companies. With that in mind, Ma's ultimate intentions aren't clear. While the separation may be a sign of a tighter focus on software, it also reduces the impact for Alibaba if anything drags Aliyun down -- and either motivation would be helpful for a company devoted to the web before anything else.

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 22, 2012 -
Cars offer the most comfortable ride and they are a requirement in Texas because of its large area. But, rising car prices make it impossible to get a car with cash. Each one of us requires car loans to finance our auto purchase.

Most people fear auto loans because of hidden charges and unmanageable payments. But, you can successfully avail reasonable interest rates on car loans today. Let?s understand how you can get Texas auto loans that are not hard on your wallet.

Tips for Getting Low Rates on Texas Car Loans

Good Score Can Help

A decent credit score will guarantee lower rates. If you have paid all your credit card bills and made prompt loan repayments, you can enjoy the benefits of having a good score. A high score often translates into low interest rates. This is so because lenders perceive you less risky. So, being a genuine re-payer in the past can help you in present.

Know and Improve your Accurate Score

It is essential that you check your credit score before applying for a car loan in the Lone Star State. Lenders may offer higher interest rates by showing a score worse than yours. So, make sure you know your exact credit score.

If you have a bad credit score, start improving it. Avail a copy of your free credit report and check for any errors. Before filling the Texas loan application form, dispute any unwarranted transactions. Also, pay off some of the debt. This will increase your credit score.

Manage These and Get Lower Rates

If you can manage to make a substantial down payment, it can reduce interest rates. A large down payment indicates Texan lenders that you have already invested a huge amount in buying the car. It will show you in a positive light. As a big money down amount will reduce the Texas car loan amount, lender?s risk will reduce and you will benefit from it.

You can get better rates by bringing a co-signer. When you have a co-signer, the lender is assured of regular payments.

If you have collateral, then the lender can easily use it to recover his money. So, use your property as collateral to reduce auto loan rates in Texas.

Comparison is the Key

Getting competitive rates is possible in Texas. For that, you have to avail auto loan quotes from several lenders. Comparing quotes will help you get the best car loan deal. It is good to compare their rates and loan conditions. Other than this, the loan term is quite important too.

Use auto loan calculators to know your exact payments, total interest amount and car loan costs. It will help you to take a better decision.

Negotiation Reduces Rates

One thing that all buyers must religiously follow is to have a proper negotiation. A study by Consumer Federation of America reveals that customers are over-charged by 3% of their loan amount by the dealers. This adds up an extra amount of $1000 while procuring the loan. So, it is essential that you don?t accept any offer without negotiation.

Remember, Texans!! Whatever you do, it should fulfill the goal of lowering lender?s risk. This will automatically help you in reduction of your car loan interest rates. If you can manage it, you will surely get the best car loan rates.

No-reset Romney keeps up fund-raising, raps Obama

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Having declared that his presidential campaign does not need a makeover, Republican Mitt Romney held two high-priced fundraisers in southern California on Saturday to raise cash for the finals weeks of the race.

"I'm not even going to be able to go home today. We're just coming to town to see you and keep the campaign going," Romney told a well-heeled crowd at the Grand Del Mar Resort hotel in Del Mar, California, about 12 miles from his beachfront house in La Jolla. Romney instead was pressing on to an event at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Some 650 supporters - including diet guru Jenny Craig - paid from $1,000 to $25,000 a head to hear Romney's 40-minute speech, have their photograph taken with the candidate and eat roast chicken breast served on a bed of Israeli couscous.

With his standing in the polls slipping, Romney has been under fire from some in his party who feel he has not spent enough time visiting political swing states versus hob-nobbing with wealthy donors.

President Barack Obama spent the day campaigning - and also raising funds - in Wisconsin, a battleground state and the home of Romney's running mate, Representative Paul Ryan.

Romney had no public events on Saturday. He will fly to Denver on Sunday afternoon for a rally and among other stops will have a two-day bus tour in Ohio Tuesday and Wednesday.

Local resident Matt Romney, the second of the candidate's five sons, introduced his father and urged attendees to "open their wallets" at least one more time to help get the Republican's message out before November 6.

"It's our turn, you guys" said the elder Romney, 65, who was wearing dress pants and a sport jacket.

'DOESN'T NEED A TURNAROUND'

Boarding a plane in San Francisco on Saturday, Romney declined to answer a reporter's shouted question of whether he will soon adopt a more "aggressive" strategy.

But he told the crowd in Del Mar that Saturday's event was his "last fundraiser in San Diego."

In an interview to be broadcast on Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes," Romney rejected calls for changes, pointing out that in national polls he is in a tight race with Obama.

"It doesn't need a turnaround. We've got a campaign which is tied with an incumbent president to the United States," Romney said in excerpts from the interview released by CBS on Friday.

At the Del Mar event Romney lauded some local California entrepreneurs, including Ada Regan, owner of "Strawberry Hill," an historic mansion in Hillsborough, near San Francisco, where Romney raised funds on Friday night.

Regan's late husband Barrie, an electrical engineer and Italian immigrant, designed components that were used in the U.S. space program.

Pressing a familiar theme, Romney said that Obama does not understand what it takes to build a business but rather wants government to play a larger top-down role.

"They DID build their business," Romney said of the Regans.
